Deacon here with a wild story from our Dr. Barry's adventure.
So picture this…
I'm laying in bed one night, casually checking our Amazon stats (a habit I'd mostly kicked since our suspension). We'd been getting around 5 sales a day on our other products. But this time... I see 25 sales.
My first thought? "That can't be right."
I double-checked the SKUs and sure enough - our suspended product was selling again. The one that had been completely dead. Not just selling a little either... it was flying off the virtual shelves.
Here's the really crazy part: We have no idea how or why it came back.
The timing couldn't have been more ironic. I had literally just:
Received 1,000 fresh labels for our "new" listing
Bought a label application machine
Created a whole new product listing (which now has 11 reviews!)
(If you're wondering - yes, I now have a label application machine I might never use. Anyone need some labels applied? 😅)
But here's what's fascinating... during our suspension, we were forced to build real marketing systems. We had to figure out Facebook ads, email marketing, and actually connecting with our customers. Now that we're back on Amazon, all those systems are still working - just pointing to a different destination.
Travis, ever the data guy, spotted something interesting: Our branded searches on Amazon (people specifically searching for "Dr. Barry's") have shot through the roof since implementing these new marketing channels.
The lesson? Sometimes your biggest headache can turn into your biggest breakthrough - if you're willing to adapt and build real systems around it.
Until next time,
Deacon
P.S. Listen in on the latest podcast episode if you want to hear us figure this out and plan for the future.
Don't call it a comeback!
Glad to see that you're back! Did you take any steps to get un-suspended? Or did it just magically happen? You mention "Created a whole new product listing (which now has 11 reviews!)" Do you think that's what did it? Thanks!
